Bunker Hill aerial view, Charlestown, MAOn June 17, 1775, British troops attacked the fortified hill top against heavy militia resistance. The monument marks the top of Bunker Hill, although most of the fighting was on nearby Breed’s Hill.  This view looking SE towards the Old North Church in Boston.

Aerial photo of the week: Paris

This evening view, with Boulevard Garibaldi on the left and the Tower and the Champ de Mars in the center, is from the roof of Tour Montparnasse. Flying over paris is forbidden. Almost all buildings in Paris are the same height, so the exceptions – like Notre Dame – really stand out.
